Employability Champions

In SALC, our priority is to nurture students’ confidence and skills, expanding opportunity for all students within a strong, connected and future-focussed community. In this community, a key component is sustained and inspiring communication between students, staff and employers.

The work of an Employability Champion covers two main aspects in which you will support your student community in gaining a competitive edge for the future. In your capacity as a student influencer on employability and careers issues, you will contribute to a strong, connected, and future-focussed community within SALC. In your advisory capacity, you will help to shape and change the School’s employability policies and careers provision, ensuring that the student voice is compellingly represented.

The role is designed to draw upon and develop your initiative and creativity in helping to open up awareness and opportunity right across the SALC student community. It will allow you to be supported in your work by expert staff within SALC and the University’s Careers Service throughout the year. You will also receive regular one-to-one and group mentoring focussed on your own personal development in the role.
